Dear "Olivia,"

A Word From THE Chick Norris:

Be warned Blog readers, I’m about to go Team Whitlock.

I received the following review of my story Finding Me. I’ll invite all of you to give it a read. I don’t give a shit about upping my numbers, just read it don’t review...read. I want you all to be able to form your own opinions. Then take a look-see at this review, which I cut and pasted directly from my inbox:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A new review/comment has been submitted to your story.
Story: Finding Me
Chapter: 6. Chapter 6: Reminiscence
From: Olivia ()
-------------------
I have got to hand it to you. You have certainly managed to emasculate Jasper
very early on; in the first chapter, no less.
On another note, why do people continue to think it’s a good idea to turn
Jasper, a mature adult vampire, into an obnoxious man-child? I’m sorry, but
I fail to see the appeal.
Case and point:
"Just know that if you rip off my pinkie, I'm tellin' Mom that you snuck out
the house, hunted me down, and started botherin' me."
As if that wasn’t bad enough:
"M-m-m-mom, R-r-rose took off my finger!" I meant what I said in the forest to
Rose, I had every intention of getting her in trouble with Esme.
They’re not actual children. So again, why do they always act like a bunch
of immature teenagers in most of these newer stories? Hell, they didn’t even
stoop that low in the actual books. I swear, these newer Jasper/Bella stories
get progressively worse each time I read one. This story reiterates everything
that is wrong with some of these newer stories. Such a shame, really.
Well, on a positive note, this story is good for one thing, if nothing else,
and that’s a good laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Personally, I laughed my ASS off when I got this review. It’s the funniest shit I’ve ever read. I started posting this story back in August, and it’s been rec’ed on a couple of blogs. I’ve had anon review enabled the entire time. This is the first negative review I’ve received.

All this review shows me is that I have a reader that is completely ignorant with regards to interpersonal relationships and the camaraderie between adult siblings. The fact that the reviewer has a habit of attacking author’s in this anon way lets me know that I in fact have what I’m sure will turn out to be a persistent pain in my ass. The anon nature of the review simply screams “Bully” and “Coward”. This “Olivia”, or whichever of the many monkiers that she has used in the past to bully (to the point of what I’d consider stalking) my very own Twitter Twin, DarkNnerdy, does not have the courage or the honor to provide her opinions in a manner that allows us, the author’s, to open up a dialogue. She simply wants to attack.

So, to “Olivia’s” mode of communication I say:

BRING IT. I’ve been to the depths of HELL and come out stronger. There is nothing that you can say or do that will compare. In fact, I welcome your attacks. Dare I say, I CRAVE them. Your paltry words amuse me. You won’t make me stop writing, and you DAMN sure aren’t affecting my self-confidence. I write a damn good Jasper. How do I know this? Because I relate to his character in more ways than a coward like you could ever understand. I volunteered to go to battle, and ended up in Hell. Since I still carry the core values of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do very close to my heart, I know that you aren’t now, or ever have been a member of the armed forces, and therefore can not truly understand the Hell of war. By the way, it was my pleasure to dodge bullets, rockets, mortars, and IEDs to provide you with this opportunity to voice your opinion.

Now, to respond to the concerns that you’ve mentioned in your review. That is, after all, the point of a review. An open and honest method of communicating.

You have certainly managed to emasculate Jasper very early on; in the first chapter, no less.

Have you ever had to kill someone? I have. It leaves a scar that’s so deep on your soul that every single time you tap into the fear or anger that’s inherent in us all that scar rips wide open and the horror of what you’ve had to do in order to survive consumes you. It’s a very emasculating experience to have so much fear, so much hate, and the helplessness that you feel coursing through you. So to you I say, very astute observation. Not many of my readers have been able to pull just how emasculating, embarrassing, and painful the entire “birthday party” experience was for Jasper.

On another note, why do people continue to think it’s a good idea to turn
Jasper, a mature adult vampire, into an obnoxious man-child? I’m sorry, but
I fail to see the appeal.
Case and point:
"Just know that if you rip off my pinkie, I'm tellin' Mom that you snuck out
the house, hunted me down, and started botherin' me."
As if that wasn’t bad enough:
"M-m-m-mom, R-r-rose took off my finger!" I meant what I said in the forest to
Rose, I had every intention of getting her in trouble with Esme.
They’re not actual children. So again, why do they always act like a bunch
of immature teenagers in most of these newer stories?

You are obviously an only child so I will explain a little to you about adult siblings. While they are in fact adults, who think and act like adults most of the time there are occasions where they may revert back to childhood habits, teasing, and relationship dynamics. This is perfectly normal. A good example would be the 20 year old Bart Simpson novelty soap that my brother and I still gift each other each Christmas. Another good example would be when my sister and I visit our parents at the same time and, in jest, try to get them to declare one of us their favorite child. I just hate that you didn’t feel that this translated well into my story. Although I noticed that you failed to quote the internal dialogue that Jasper was having just prior to the spoken parts that you seemed to focus on. Perhaps if you had truly read the story, you would have picked up on the not so subtle hints at the joking nature of the phrases that seem to have bothered you so much.

Hell, they didn’t even
stoop that low in the actual books. I swear, these newer Jasper/Bella stories
get progressively worse each time I read one. This story reiterates everything
that is wrong with some of these newer stories. Such a shame, really.
Well, on a positive note, this story is good for one thing, if nothing else,
and that’s a good laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

Now, when I get a reviewer that has questions or concerns, I like to ensure that my review responses address each and ever concern my reader has. This last bit of your review however does not really have any questions or concerns. It seems to just be a copy and paste version of your favorite derogatory phrases and attacks. Again I say to you...BRING IT. The pen truly is mightier than the sword, so you keep chopping away at me with your little sword, and I can promise that I will wield my pen to continue writing this story that I, and many others love and enjoy. And rest assured, even though you are too cowardly to simply review and open a dialogue, you will ALWAYS have your reviews answered by me. My pen is pretty damn potent, and I’m not afraid to use it. And so I thank you, for your review. Perhaps, as you continue reading this story, your testicles will descend and you will create an account with which to sign your reviews.

NOW...

Oh, I’m not done yet folks.

This shit is getting pretty damn old. This "Olivia" joker has only pissed me off because of her prior attacks on MY DarkNnerdy. Now, Nerdy has had the full backing of the fandom on this one because she is a fuck-awesome writer. Several members of the fandom have contacted FanFiction.Net with regard to the personal nature of some of the reviews that “Olivia” has left. FanFiction.Net’s response has been less than lack luster. In fact, I found their response, or lack thereof even more offensive than “Olivia’s” blatant bullying. FanFiction.Net has no sort of reporting method for anon reviewers. Anon reviewers are completely free to personally attack writers without experiencing any reprocussions. This is disgusting. FanFiction.Net, grow a set. Provide your writers a minimal amount of protection. There is such a thing as cyber-bullying, and you are encouraging it with your lack of actions. You don’t even offer a method for reporting the anon reviewers. Now, I run a website myself and I know for a fact that it is quite simple to track the IP addresses that are accessing your site. In fact, it’s quite easy to narrow down an IP address to a specific city and provider, and method of connection, and if it’s a mobile device even the type of device. So FanFiction.Net, congratulations on being the only supporter of Cyber-Bullies that I have ever heard of. You should be more ashamed than the anon cyber bullies that you love so much.

Thanks to all of you that expressed outrage at this review and let me know of your support. I appreciate it. Just know that it takes WAY more than a pussy-ass anon review to slow me down. But that’s just me, and that’s what makes me so mad. I’m a confident woman. There are a shit ton of authors that are still teenaged girls, young and insecure like we all were at that stage in our lives. They most likely have poured themselves into their writing, and would take comments such as “Olivia’s” to heart instead of recognizing them as the words of a bully. To those girls I would say, give reviewers like “Olivia” the good ole Whitlock Salute and keep writing.

-Chick

A Word From Chick’s Beta:

To that which is against my author,

You know, one, I hate you little anon bitches. Make a mother fucking account so when you sit there and spew shit, we can respond to you without resorting to extreme measures to put your ass in place as you had tried to do ‘my’ author.

Now one, ‘THE Chick Norris,” is a brand new author. She is doing a story that popped a little plot bunny inside her head. I’ve met new authors who think a story’s chapter alone is 1k long and has no proper English within it. How dare you sit there, knowing she is a new author and say anything of the sort about how she writes a story. While I believe constructive criticism is how we all learn and get better, I’ll be damned if I just sit here and have some ‘bitch’ whose biggest word she knows is ‘ridiculousness’ try and tare someone they don’t know, will never know or care about ‘down to size.’

So, you don’t like to story. Good for you, just go on your way because it’s kind of funny. 9 chapters in, 210 reviews and counting (And 98% of them love the story might I add. I’ve read every review there is.) and here comes ‘Miss/Mrs/Ms know it all” to talk shit as though the shit she is saying and thinking doesn’t smell. Guess what bitch it does. And while we all know it does, let me tell you this. My steel-toe boot will stink of it when I walk all over your ass. How dare you try and cut someone down? You think you’re better then the 209 other people who reviewed? Then you’re seriously living in wonderland and I want some of those damn happy pills

If “The Chick Norris” who I know as Chick was bull-shit at writing not only would she NOT have me as a beta, but she wouldn’t be someway (or completely, I’ve been away for a bit due to my own health) involved with any other authors, and other groups that have brought about some of the greatest stories there is on F.F. and other places. People would kill to become a part of them if they are writers, and with all of their stories ranging in over 1k reviews and some at even 2k (If I remember write) I’m wondering with all of this knowledge just how the fuck you come up with the bull-shit you left as a review. More so, I’m kind of pissed at the lengths we have to go to tell you to go stick it up your fucking ass (even though you most likely like that kind of thing) and twirl that shit around while you do. Fucking anon idiots, your good for nothing for you nothing more than a damn coward.

If Chick was bull-shit, I’ll say it again, I wouldn’t be her ‘beta’. I enjoy helping Chick, going through her chapters again and again. Speaking of plot (Which is a great fucking idea thank you very much) and so on. I’m one of the few with the ‘inside look’ because of what I do for her. Not only has she come a long way since I first started working with her, but her ideas are becoming much more complex and interesting, which is how it’s supposed to be with all writers, especially the new ones.

So I really don’t know where the hell you get off. But let’s tare you down to size for a moment. Let’s put it all this way you stupid little ‘pedal’ (Sorry Hammerhips will get that one). I won’t put up with anyone doing anything more than constructive criticism to any of these girls that I’ve met and in away become a part of. I’ve been editing stories in real life and online for fan fiction for ten years now (and just started twilight because of the large demand) I know what’s good and what’s not. The next time you or any ‘group’ of people want to come along and screw with any of these girls, know, you’ll have a fight. And that fight you’ll bring with be won on my side. So take your little words that are meant to harm and find someone else to fuck with. Like your own stories. Cause that’s why you’re anon isn’t it? You don’t want us to see you’re a net speak little fucker who couldn’t write a story if they were paid all the money in the world to do so.

You should know the golden rule. And now you should know, this beta, she’s loyal to what is made hers. So back off. Grow up. Take your balls out of your fucking ass and stop being a damn coward. Or I’ll go and speak to Peter and sick him on your ass =) lmao.

Julianna Moon-Blood Nightingale.

( Known as Juliannanight on every damn website practically for fan fiction as a beta. This has not been edited in any fashion by me. Written from the heart, so tare it down all you want, I already know all the ‘beta’ problems within it, smart ones. I won‘t be a coward and not sign this with something that allows you to actually go to where I can be found.)

A Word From Chick’s Wifey:

Seeing a flame always pains me, pisses me off and makes me wonder what the hell problem these people have that they can’t voice their opinions without resorting to bullies tactics and insults. It makes me wonder what they’re missing in their lives to literally go out of their way to post their distaste for the story over and over again. It also makes me question their IQ. You see, this is what has happened to my good friend and crazy co-hort, DarkNnerdy and my amazing Beta and Treacle, Mynxi. ‘Olivia’ has made sure to review each and every chapter with an ever escalating flame. Now, my question is...what’s the point? Really...STOP READING THE STORY.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, hell I welcome diversity and hate the sheep mentality. But there is nothing I hate more than a bully and that, ‘Olivia’, is exactly what you are. And now you’ve chosen to grace my Wifey with your presence in her reviews.

And that shit just ain’t gonna fly.

I've read the review, and I can safely say that you completely missed the point. Isn’t Jasper allowed to be playful, to wind his ‘sister’ up, to take the piss? They were not being serious and that point was painfully obvious when reading the chapter. I certainly thought so when I first read it. And if you would take any note of where the story is headed, Jasper’s state of mind, then it is also obvious that this is a journey for him to take. I've said this before, many times, but THE Chick Norris’ Jasper is one of the very best that I have ever read. And trust me when I say that I've read a lot. His mind, his thoughts, personality, worries, wars within himself...all of that and she portrays them with a talent that has often astounded me.

That said, it is up to an individual what they think or feel about a piece of writing. Not everyone will agree with my estimation, but what gets my knickers in a bunch is that you don’t seem to be able to voice your opinion without flaming. It really is that simple.

Flames = BAD ConCrit = GOOD and WORTHWHILE

I can safely say that your apparent need to spread your misery and ill will around the Fandom is both sickening and pathetic. What is more disgusting is that you chose to do this anonymously, the sheer cheek of it is awe inspiring. Seriously, personally, if you’re going to have such harsh ideas that you continue to review with...then have the grace and character to do so with an email or hell, use your real account. It’s...pathetic in the extreme.

My advice to you is very simple; GET A LIFE.

And accept the criticism when it’s thrown back at you, but then it doesn’t surprise me that you’re a hypocrite. So please cease and desist, take your insults and scathing words and shove them where the sun don’t shine. Unfortunately, I know that you won’t...I think that you enjoy this, well let me tell you something. We get a great laugh out of you and your reviews. :D

  3. Dear Anonymous Reviewer,

    By all means, point out my wrong. I simply answered your review. I'm sorry if you now feel stupid as that was not my intent. I just like to use reviews for the purpose for which they were intended...open dialogue. As you are too ashamed of your words and actions to take credit for them, please continue to hide behind Anonymous Reviews and Comments. I welcome ALL reviews and comments, and I think that it's very kind of you to continue to share your opinion with me. I will however, feel free to share mine with you as well.

    So again, PLEASE point out what I did wrong? Was it answering a review that you embarassed yourself in, or was it critizing a practice that I find abhorrent? Or was I wrong in simply pointing out YOUR wrong?

    I stated it in my post and I'll state it again here...BRING IT.

  4. I dont know who this "olivia" is but she didnt leave that comment, I did and I feel like you're taking this way too seriously. I only have one question to ask, in that entire review was there one single curse word ? I'm sure you feel all high and mighty with your blog but not everyone is gonna love your story and if you had so many positive reviews then why get all upset over one bad one, delete it and move the hell on. adios

  6. @Jenn Hon, I think you missed the point. It's not about getting bad reviews.

    It's about one particular person who constantly leaves negative comments for others, not just once but over and over, and hides behind being anonymous.

    I've told plenty of people I didn't like their story and why. I've never hidden behind an 'anonymous' tag; I sign in as me and if they want to discuss my review, they know where to find me.

    It's one thing for someone to come up to you in the street and say 'Look love, that dress is not doing anything for your hips; try something with an a-line', and quite another for someone to write across your windshield in red lipstick 'You dress like a hooker', then run away. See the difference?

  7. Gee, all this attention for little 'ol me?

    I would first like to point out that the anonymous person above is in fact, not me. I did get a laugh out of it, though. Much like the reviews, apparently any anonymous person is automatically assumed to be me. Actually, they don’t even have to be anonymous (yes, I read those reviews as well). Any reviewer who doesn’t praise the story will automatically be in cahoots with me, right? Because I am the only one who will ever dislike something about a story. Yes, of course, silly me.

  8. Olivia is the ONLY name I have ever used to review anyone. Yes, I have read the other anonymous reviews that were sent to people. I would love to be able to take credit for those as well but, alas, I can’t (as it wasn’t me). In fact, I’ve been accused of reviewing stories that I haven’t even read, nor have any intention of reading. I haven’t asked or encouraged a single person to review on my behalf. Perhaps people saw my reviews and decided to follow my lead. I have no control over that. I can definitely see the appeal, though, especially if they’re getting reactions such as this.

  9. NOW…

    Oh, I’m not done yet, my sweets.

    Since you’re white knighting little Miss Nerdy on here, then I should probably clear some things up. If memory serves me correct, I can count the number of times on one hand that I have personally reviewed her story (chapters 10, 13, 15, and twice on 18). In case you’re a little slow on the uptake, that’s a total of five times.

    ReplyDelete
  10. After the first three, Nerdy disabled anonymous reviews, which is fine. However, being the follower that she is, she enabled them again after Mynxi informed her that I supposedly despise the deleting of my reviews. She’s under a misapprehension, though. If anything, I find it incredibly amusing that she sits and waits for me to review just so she can delete it, thinking she’s somehow getting to me. Sorry to burst her little bubble, but she’s sorely mistaken. Now, as I was saying, Nerdy wanted to play the game of ‘delete the review’, hoping to somehow get back at me. Now, keep in mind that she was already whining and complaining about the few reviews that I had already sent her, yet she enabled them again. So, being the nice person that I am, I decided to give her what she wanted, only for her to complain some more when I reviewed two more times (yes, my total is still five). If she can’t handle the reviews, then perhaps she shouldn’t encourage them. She can’t have it both ways. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to easily rectify that problem. But, she seems to enjoy all the attention she garners from the people who lick her wounds, forgetting the fact that she encouraged it and is still encouraging it. Yeah, makes no sense to me either.

    Dear Chicks beta,

    Out of everything on this blog, one particular comment of yours made me laugh the hardest. You’re messing with me, I mean, you can’t be serious, right?

    “People would kill to become a part of them if they are writers, and with all of their stories ranging in over 1k reviews and some at even 2k…”

    I wasn’t aware that reviews were the end all, be all. Also, reviews aren’t any way to judge a story. There are plenty of stories with very little reviews that are just as good as those with reviews in the thousands. As for the other part of that comment, yes, you got me. I am beside myself with jealousy over the fact that I am not in this super speshul clique. Oh dear God, who will lick my gaping wounds? What about non-writers? How do they gain access into the clique? Wait, don’t tell me. I’m pretty sure I can guess. You just leave beautiful reviews filled with rainbows and sunshine, praising each and every chapter, even if said chapters don’t warrant such praise. Once you’ve kissed everyone’s butt and are deemed worthy, you’re awarded your gold star and gain exclusive access. Am I right, or in your case ‘write’?

    Dear Chicks Wife,

    Your reply was rather lackluster, if I’m being honest. Flames this, flames that. I’m told stories are like babies to a writer, their pride and joy. That being said, no one wants to hear that their baby isn’t good looking or just plain ugly, no matter how nicely you phrase it.

    As to my response to you, Chick, I don’t see the point in readdressing the same issues that I previously mentioned in my review. You’d just launch into another long-winded explanation that I have no intention of reading. I will say this though, your personal life is of no importance to me. I don’t care about your life story, and I certainly won’t bow down and kiss your butt simply because you feel you deserve it, what with your whole “I was in the Armed Forces” tirade. For someone who doesn’t care, you sure went to a lot of trouble to ‘put me in my place’. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to ‘bitch slap me, Team Whitlock style’. I quite enjoyed it.

    - Olivia

    P.S. As much as you'd all enjoy it, I will not be responding to any of my lovely fans via this blog. I will, however, sit back and enjoy all of the drama this comment will incite.

  15. *giggles* yeah I shouldn't be surprised that all of this occurred. All I'm going to say is the control we wield over 'Olivia' & whomever else that feel the need to "comment" or "attack" whichever you call it, amazes me.

    As authors we have written & posted stories that whether we think they are good or not we have decided to share. While education in writing style & suggestions for a story line can be given, lets avoid using the term constructive criticism ‘cause in the end it's just criticism hiding behind a less offensive moniker.

    This probably isn't the place to share this story but I'm going to anyway hoping someone underst&s what I'm trying to say. Simply put negativity is bad & not helpful.

    As most of you know, I'm a counselor. As a counselor one of the things we typically recommend is journaling thoughts & feelings so they are easier to understand, can be looked at later with a clear head, & to get the emotions behind the thoughts out. I work with all ages but mainly adolescents. One girl in particular recently had her journal stolen. It was returned a week later with comments on every page.

    The comments were rude, derogatory, & told her about all the things she was doing wrong in her life. I found out about it because the girl tried to commit suicide. This isn't a laughing matter obviously. The point is as authors we do put ourselves out there for criticism but there's no reason to give it on fanfiction. There was no reason for the person that stole that girl’s journal to comment either, except to be malicious.

  16. My story Saving Bella as we all know deals with some deep topics even though I don't go too in depth. I've had reviews & PMs that tell me about personal experiences with this issue, the help it's inspired, the way cutting is depicted as accurate & not stigmatizing. The point is despite the "hatchet" that I took to the characters, it wasn't about SM or her characters, it was simply about a story I wanted to tell. Good or bad, it was mine to tell. Everyone has an opinion but no one NEEDS to or HAS to condemn a writer.

    It's your choice to read, review, & be nice or not. I know all of this. But you never know what that person is dealing with. Honestly, a mean review is just cyber bullying as the girls on this site stated. & I'd hate to think the wrong thing is said to the wrong person causing them to want to commit suicide or murder. Because honestly you just don't know. I worry as much for my readers as I do about reviewers who think being nasty is necessary to get a point across.

    In the end *bows to The Chick Norris* Thank you for choosing to put your life on the line for our country. & thank you to others out there who have done the same. 'Olivia' will not appreciate that because she is not American from what I can gather. Either way not everyone understands what it means to be an American, what it means to look death in the eye & not run away, & what it means to have friends that support you.

    So *tips hat* to all reviewers who think we write shit: we control you, you follow us to blogs, twitter, & fanfic & you need to work on being a strong positive person. Keep in mind you don't know the mental health of those you are criticizing...I do know some, & some are doing this as a form of therapy, a way to develop a hobby & express themselves. If you have a suggestion to help a writer, give something exact they do well, as well as something they can improve on specifically. A review of "You write crap" well the response is "Don't read the crap" it goes nowhere fast.

    I suggest to all treating everyone the way you want your family treated, because Karma is a bitch & I've seen her work her magic.

    I Love my Charlie's Angels! I'm sorry that all of this has become stupid & time consuming for no reason other than because people feel the need to get attention by being mean.

  18. TITLE: I CALL BS.

    You see normally I am not a nice person. I'm a little bit crazy Olivia and because I would like to be civil in this response (which I thank you for posting on here so I could).

    My mother always gave the best advice, one of which was; If you can't say something nice punch a b***h, I live by that advice. For you though I have only words.

    Once again Olivia baby you have proved my point. Ignorance. You call what I did whining? Have you ever actually had a friend? Ever talked about things that happened in your life with them? Ever had someone attack YOU personally and not said a word about it? No? Well I have, recently as a matter of fact. My point is people talk to their friends about things in their lives and I did. Men do it and call it tailgating, we all do it because we as people enjoy the comfort of our friends and the words they say to us to help us through whatever it is that has us upset. I stand behind every one of them and every word they said about YOU because that's what friends do. Now I'm sorry you considered me talking about the nasty that you spewed to me as whining (and I'm talking about the review after the bitchslap) Remember that one....memories. You came to my story after I deleted your review and posted something about ME personally.
    That is bullying plain and simple. What i think you fail to realize Olivia is what exactly constructive criticism really is. Not once in any of your reviews have I seen an actual post that says what exactly it is that you refer to as plot holes. You have never gave me anything to go off of but saying that I am supposedly copying someone elses story? You can not call yourself a respectable reviewer by saying something like that and no elaborating.

  19. I CALL BS PART 2

    You see us, my friends, the ones you are attacking (yes attacking) are in a small community with the J/B writers. We tend to stick together, have each others backs. When you attack one of us we all are effected. It took me a day to realize after receiving your first review that I have them beside me. I got a ton of support from them and made some damn good friends out of it.

    Now as my title states I call BS, I can smell it too.

    You say you ONLY review as Olivia, again I call BS. See I went back and looked at time stamps, looked at dates and yes I did watch out for your reviews but I did this because not five minutes after I enabled my anons SURPRISE guess who posted a review? Yes you silly. I expected it. I've had stalkers in the past and it didn't surprise me to find out that you had been watching and waiting for me to do that. I feel thats a bit on the creepy but my definition is lose so.

  20. As to say that people just took your lead in posting those things about my story seems a little odd since I had not ever received a bad review or one with concrit in it until you, and even now, not one person has still pointed out what it is that they actually find so horrible about it. If you want me to take what it is that you have to say Olivia to heart about my story and try and make it better please speak up about MY story not ME the PERSON. It makes you look ignorant and childish. I delete because ff.net gives me that right. And you just keep coming back for more and almost as soon as I post a new chapter. Again this seems odd to me seeing as you can't stand my writing. You make it extremely hard to believe anything you say Olivia.

    Now as for you saying that I feed into it and listened to Mynxi about turning them on and off. My reason for doing that was because of Mynxi yes, she pointed out that I had reviewers who posted anon before you and I felt it was pretty wrong of me to just block them because of one crazy. I enabled and the minute I did your reviews flowed in. Again no real surprise there.

  21. Your the one who decided to make this personal Olivia and that is why I got upset. The women over at the wordybitches made a post about your review. It's their right to do so and it is a regular post that they do. I appreciate them doing and stand behind every word written as well. If you don't like being called out on your words don't post them. If you want to talk to me about my story and it's problems, offer me actual advice, come out from behind that anon post and speak to ME. I am more than willing to talk to anyone who isn't a coward. Until you do anything you have to say about my story has no effect on me and that means even from the names you claim you don't use.

    I also feel a little violated and deprived after reading your post here. I had a feeling you followed me on Twitter. Thanks for clearing that up. I understand that you couldn't get enough of me but stop and say hi sometime. You see us, my friends, the ones you are attacking (yes attacking) are in a small community with the J/B writers. And Olivia you may be sitting there wondering how I know your crazy. Hun it takes one crazy to know another, welcome to the club.

  24. First and foremost I am not a writer and many of y’all know that. I’ve reviewed my fair share of stories both on FFn and on Twiwrite. As my fellow Angels know and have experienced, I have given them feedback during my reviews and have, on occasion asked questions during my reviews. But it isn’t just limited to these ladies here and they know it. I’ve got responses from authors telling me how much they’ve appreciated my insight and have answered any questions or concerns I have regarding the story.

    It is one thing to offer value-added criticism for an author. But note that criticism isn’t supposed to be full of vitriol or written with the poison pen; perceived or otherwise. Honestly, I used to read books from cover to cover regardless of whether or not they were good. NOW, if it isn’t the genre I like or I lose interest, guess what? I fucking stop reading the story. Simple as that. Just fucking stop reading the story if it is THAT fucking bad. These stories aren’t on the high school reading list, they are for your enjoyment. If you (and I am using you in a general sense, not really naming any specific *cough* names here) keep coming back to a story you’ve given bad reviews to and more than once, I might add, why are you subjecting yourself to this? Do you get off on it or something? I just don’t get it. I really don’t. I am not afraid to put down a story and either pick it back up later on or not. I move on, simple as that.

    So as a reviewer, I am not afraid to offer my insight and not hide behind some pussy anonymous screen name either. I have nothing to hide so why are you?

  25. I've been out of service for a while - moving house just before Christmas, who does that?

    But I have to say I'm confused.

    Olivia has given various authors reviews. She has not been very nice to most of them - as far as I can see, that is - and she is now stalking peeps o blogs and on twitter to rub her hands together when she sees said peeps react. Do I have this right?

    Concrit is a valuable tool. I have nothing to say about Olivia's opinions - although I think she could express them in a manner more becoming to a constructive dialogue between author and critic, after all everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

    However, I do find it strange that a reader with a genuine desire to communicate concrit, to engage with an author in a mature manner, would then hide behind an anon account. Why?

    Olivia, if you want to review my stories, go ahead. I have anon reviews allowed. If you do, I would appreciate it if you could give me some way of contacting you. Surely that is common courtesy?

    And btw, as I'm sure you know, I'm, darkNnerdy's beta. I do wonder if you have ever filled this role yourself? A beta is there to make sure a story is readable, of course. I try my hardest to ensure there are no grammar or spelling mistakes, I ask Nerdy many questions about her story line and offer suggestions. What I think you fail to realize is that not all stories are written on a clear path from A to Z. Some things are designed to be confusing. I believe you said at one point she had written herself into a corner? Perhaps if you allowed yourself to carry on reading, and tried to join the rest of us outside of your ivory tower, you might see where she's going - and who knows? You might even enjoy the ride?

  26. *Throws popcorn at everyone before taking her halo off*

    I have only one thing to say to Olivia. Yes, I did 'write' instead of 'right' yet I'm a 'beta'. I stated that I wrote from the heart and within flames boiling under my skin. I didn't 're-read' what I wrote, just had it posted. If you want to criticize my beta'ing job for a STORY, F.F, NEWSPAPER ARTICLE then please do. But other than that. You look more retarded than I do f*ing up like that.

    To Mynxi, darknerdy and chick: xoxo

    *Puts halo back on*
